“Restaurant” Review: Sonic

If you haven’t been to Sonic, you haven’t lived. As a teenager, at least. All teenagers must have a run in with Sonic every once in a while. It’s like a rite of passage – our version of the 50′s and 60′s drive in movie theatres and 24 hour diners. It’s a perfect middle of the night adventure snack. Their menu fits a fast-food diet (which is to say it’s American fried and grilled fare and not good for you at all – but as a gastronomic exception to the rule and an indulgence – it qualifies). In addition, the rollerblade service usually can satisfy anyone’s need for eye-candy as the servers are fetching.

You can find a drive in in Somerville, Peabody, and Wilmington. Cross your fingers that one opens in Medford next to Wellington station. Shall we petition?
