In just two short weeks, the MHS drama club will be presenting their night of “One Acts.” This fun filled night will consist of four different small one act plays. One of these plays is Almost Maine, which takes place in a small town just outside Maine, hence the name. This small rinky dink town has a few heartwarming stories about its occupants which will include friends becoming lovers, long journeys, and even love at first sight.
Another one of the One Acts is a shortened version of the play Drop Dead. This hilarious play within a play/murder mystery will keep the audience laughing and guessing until the end. Another highly anticipated one act coming up is the comedy It’s not you, It’s me. This wonderfully written short play all about different dumpings and break-ups has a surprisingly sweet end that will keep the crowd wanting more.
Finally, the main event of the night will be the one act competing in this year’s Drama Fest, Addict. Addict is an eye-opening production about the very real dangers and life threatening consequences of drug use, this hard hitting topic will hopefully bring some awareness to the audience full of teens.
The Night of One Acts will be a night of entertainment and amusement for all who attend, this reporter has the inside scoop that this year’s Night of One Acts will be the best yet.
