Restaurant Review: Burger Dive

by Kimberley Hurdle

Have you ever gone shopping, preferably in Assembly Square and grabbed your pencils for school at Staples or a new scarf in Kmart? How about browsing the plant section in Home Depot? You grab the necessities you initially wanted but realize something. “Man… I am hungry!” Well, now you don’t have to cross the bridge and enter traffic to Station Landing or go all the way into Medford for a quick bite. Burger Dive, recently opened in Assembly Square Drive, Somerville is one of the many restaurants that are surrounding the new and improved Square. Driving near Burger Dive, one of the first things you see is a car… shaped like a burger! Lettuce, tomato, ketchup and mustard, you name it the car has it!

Walking into the restaurant you notice how clean and organized it is inside. The chairs are lined on the perimeter of the restaurant with windows all around: the grill and where they make the food smack down in the middle. The best thing about Burger Dive is you can see them making the food. You see the fries fried, the burgers flipped, even the shakes blended (I recommend the s’mores shake). Looking at the menu, it is evident you cannot be a plain Jane there. Each burger has some kind of special ingredient, neither just cheese nor just a burger (though you can ask for either.) The prices however are rather high, two burgers and fries with a shake almost add up to $30. The food is worth it, the burgers are well cooked with the Burger Dive logo printed on the bun. The fries are absolutely delicious and the shakes leave your taste buds wanting more.

The cooks are also nice, compromising with what you want and what they have. As they always say, the costumers are always right and at Burger Dive that saying truthfully applies. Overall, would I recommend for anyone to go? Yes. Would I go back? Probably not, but it is an experience I am happy to have gone through. Burger Dive is just one of the great improvements in Assembly Square that will satisfy many shoppers. So head to Burger Drive and get your shake and fries…oh and of course a burger!
