Rumors about this year’s plans for the annual homecoming dance have been buzzing around Medford High School’s busy halls since September. Every year, the Student Council and the Junior Class are responsible for organizing the event which over the years has ranged from formal dances to white-outs in the school’s lobby to promote school spirit for the new year. The dance is for all grades and is a perfect way to come together as a school, especially if you enjoyed the GSA’s Neon Dance. There were rumors at the beginning of the year that a formal Homecoming dance was going to make a comeback after 2 years on hiatus which excited the many who enjoy dressing there best for a night in November full of dancing and fun.
Student council however has a different approach on dressing up for this year’s dance. The many voices of Student Council and the Class of 2015 have decided to make this year a Halloween dance where students (and hopefully chaperones) will dress in their best costumes! To be appropriate with the time of year, the dance will fall a bit earlier on Friday November 1st, the day after Halloween from 7-9 p.m in MHS’ main lobby. Student Council is working very hard to make this the most memorable Homecoming event yet but you can help by giving suggestions during student council’s meeting every Tuesday after school in Ms. Peritore’s room. Will you come through for MHS’ own monster mash?
