37 Things to Do When You’re Bored


  1. Make a list, not unlike this one right here
  2. Update your resume, the achievements you’ve done? Yeah, put them on here.
  3. Make a vision board. Put your idol on it or just some amazing quotes. There are some amazing ideas on Pinterest.
  4. Paint. Or don’t, it’s really your choice.
  5. Sketch. Don’t have paint? Just grab a pencil (or a pen) and create!
  6. Go to the gym. You’ll get out of the house, cure your boredom, and get a workout.
  7. Don’t have a gym? Go for a walk. Walks are calming and maybe you’ll find something exciting to cure your boredom.
  8. Meditate. You don’t even have to leave your house to get calm.
  9. Bake. You’ll have a new skill and a desert to eat whenever you feel.
  10. Research places to volunteer. Learn of different ways you can give back.
  11. Write a poem. Be your own muse.
  12. Do your laundry. If you haven’t done it already, you’ll thank me later.
  13. Plan a party. This’ll keep you busy, for sure.
  14. Take a nap.  It’s sleep. Why not?
  15. Put together a care package. Or at least research when you can send a care package.
  16. Send a friend a letter. You’ll be doing something and it’s for someone else. The best gift is the gift of giving.
  17. Color. Can’t sketch or paint? Color in one of those adult coloring books laying around your home.
  18. Wash your windows. And your mirrors.
  19. Listen to music. You don’t have to leave your house or move.
  20. Catch up on current events. Be ready for if any of these topics come up in any conversation you may have in the future.
  21. Go for a bike ride. Don’t feel like walking or going to the gym? Ride a bike instead.
  22. Start a blog. And then, if you’re anything like me, delete it right after.
  23. Start a garden. Bring your mum, grandma, or motherly figure flowers, they’ll appreciate it.
  24. Start a journal. A nice way to keep your schedule straight.
  25. Organize something. Maybe your room?
  26. Learn a new language. You never know when you’ll need to know Gaelic.
  27. Do a puzzle. Then you can frame it, if you ever finish it.
  28. Dance. It’s like listening to music, but you do something this time.
  29. Read a book. Maybe one you’ve been meaning to read for the longest time.
  30. Learn to tie a bow-tie. You never know when you’ll need to know how to tie a bow-tie.
  31. Online shop. Or just online browse.
  32. Netflix. The go-to boredom-buster.
  33. Go through photos on your phone. Delete those you don’t need.
  34. Unsubscribe from emails with Unroll.me. Spam mail can be so annoying.
  35. Watch YouTube videos. Great idea for inspiration for the next idea.
  36. Create a YouTube channel. Wow, here’s the inspiration coming into play.
  37. Print out this list. You can cut each item out to put them in a “bored” or “lazy day” jar.
